About the FBA Hall of Fame
The FBA Hall of Fame recognises the achievements of family-owned businesses that successfully contribute to our community, culture and economy.
Hall of Fame is a highly regarded peer commendation bestowed to one outstanding business in each state or territory each year by Family Business Australia and New Zealand. DEM Fire is the 2020 recipient for New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory.
According to the FPA, “This citation recognises the achievements of families that are managing respected and successful family businesses and pays homage to the significant role they play in our community, society and economy. Induction into the FBA Hall of Fame is an honour that is highly esteemed within the family business sector and inductees are justly proud to be recognised for their achievements.”
Growing with FBA
DEM Fire is co-owned by husband and wife team Tom Marshall and Janice Marshall, our head of WH&S, and Gary Marshall, our General Manager.
The team has been involved with FBA for several years, attending conferences and training programs. Janice is also an active member of an FPA Forum group that provides support, guidance and networking opportunities exclusively for women in family business.
“I think we’ve always had a long-term picture in mind, but our recent journey with the FPA has helped us get clarity of who we are as a family business and what our forward journey is. It’s nice that our customers and industry colleagues – and our employees – are starting to recognise what that’s all about,” explains Tom.
