Comprehensive fire system management
DEM Fire has been providing services to Opera Australia for a decade across two locations in Sydney: its head office in Surry Hills and a storage facility in Alexandria.
The DEM Fire team regularly service and monitor all fire and safety equipment including sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers and pumps.
“We have a full schedule in place which we revise every couple of years,” advises Neal. “They do a monthly check on our sprinkler systems, an annual check of pipe work and they regularly monitor all other equipment such as smoke alarms, fire blankets and extinguishers.”
Choosing DEM Fire
Neal first considered moving to DEM Fire based on the recommendation of a colleague – and he’s stayed with DEM for several reasons.
“I met with Gary and Tom Marshall, who then tendered for the job,” Neal explains. “I went with them based on competitive pricing and because they seemed very knowledgeable. I’ve stayed with them because of their expertise, great communication and quality of work.”
“I’ve found all the staff to be very professional in everything from how they dress to most importantly, how they do the job. They also supply everything I need, and all work complies with local council and Australian safety codes.”

One area Neal is particularly impressed with in addition to the quality of work, is the ease of communication.
“Tom and Gary are very approachable if I have any concerns,” he says. “They are always very quick to respond – and they come up with the right answer.”
He has been impressed too with the level of technology across the organisation, which the team uses when testing all fire and safety equipment.
